CMP Eligibility & Requirements
CMP applications are evaluated by the CMP Board shortly after the application deadline and is based on a point system -- awarded for meeting management experience, responsibilities and education.

Additional points are accrued by having membership(s) in professional meeting management organizations and making contributions to the profession. The application can be self-scored for assessment of sufficient points.

The CMP examination is three hours and includes 150 multiple-choice questions on the functions a meeting professional must perform.

These functions are listed in the CMP application kit with a range in number of examination questions for each function. An independent testing agency scores examinations, reports to examinees and keeps examination records.
